Model: One World Trade Center
Contemporary Architecture had us look at new buildings that define the newest looks in the field. The One World Trade Center from Skidmore, Owings & Merrill demonstrates a balance between function, monument and memorial. I scaled the model down to 1/8th its size, while maintaining its key features. I laser cut mirrored acrylic to create the effect of windows as well as added a blue tint. I placed the building isolated on a base, wanting to emphasize its architectural form out of the context of the whole memorial. Photo taken in Brown Design Workshop
